Materials & Jewelry care
Sustainable Sterling silver
We believe in sustainability and care deeply about the environment. To minimize waste, we collect silver dust, broken jewelry, and unworn pieces. These materials are processed in a chemical laboratory to produce pure silver (Ag 999). We then mix the pure silver with copper to create sterling silver (Ag 925).
Sterling silver
We use pure 999 silver mixed with copper to craft our sterling silver jewelry, which is made to a standard of Ag 925.
Oxidized silver
The surface of oxidized jewelry is intentionally darkened through a chemical process. With frequent wear, the oxidized finish may rub off. If this happens, we can easily reapply the blackened finish for you. Please contact us at hello@bugajwlr.com, or visit your local jeweler for assistance.
Note: Blackened jewelry does not stain clothing, so your clothes are safe.
Engraved letters
Letters are engraved in sterling silver to a depth of approximately 0.6–0.9 mm. The engraving will not wear off unless the jewelry is severely damaged and becomes unwearable.
Gold plated silver
Our sterling silver jewelry is plated with pure gold (Au 999, 24k). However, as this is only a surface layer, the plating may wear off over time, depending on how the jewelry is used and cared for. Please handle gold-plated rings, earrings, and other pieces with care to prolong their beauty. If you would like your jewelry re-plated, contact us at hello@bugajwlr.com.
Polish surface
The polished surface of our jewelry is finished to a mirror shine. With frequent wear, the surface may develop scratches or cracks. If you’d like to restore the original finish, please contact us at hello@bugajwlr.com, or take your jewelry to a local jeweler.
Assay
All our jewelry is hallmarked with an international hallmark by the Lithuanian Assay Office.
Allergy
If you are allergic to silver or gold, we strongly advise against purchasing our jewelry, even if you love it. Your health and comfort come first.
